Hotel Description
Bullfrog received its name from a lonely bullfrog. A pioneer family was searching for water near what is Water Pocket Fold today when they found a lone bullfrog sitting at the spring. Bullfrog was established in 1965. Bullfrog is located on the north shore of Bullfrog Bay. From Glen Canyon Dam 97 miles up-lake. From Hanksville, Utah 75 miles.

The Defiance House lodge is on a hill overlooking Lake Powell. When entering the park just follow the signs to get to the top of hill. The lodge is a two-story building consisting of 48 rooms. The rooms are in a separate building from the front desk and restaurant. The second floor is considered lakeview. The parking lot side on the second floor over looks the mouth of Bullfrog bay. On the marina side you will over look Water pocket Fold range and part of Bullfrog Bay. The lodge has NO pool, work out room or elevator. The guest will find pop, juice and ice machines located at the end of the hallway for their convenience.
