We are only an hour and a half drive north of Atlanta, GA and the Georgia dome. We are also only an hour and a half from Cherokee, North Carolina and Harrahs Casino.
Also visit Tallulah falls and gorge, which is 1200 feet deep. This is a 40 minute drive from Helen and is on the way to visit Cherokee, NC. We are 30 minutes from Dahlonega, GA where gold was discovered. there is a gold museum on the square which is surrounded by a lot of nice specialty shops. You can go into the mines and pan for gold.
Babyland General Hospital, where the famous Cabbage Patch kids are born, is only 10 minutes from Helen, in Cleveland, GA. We are only 20 minutes away from Brasstown Bald-Georgias highest Mountain. On clear days you can see four states.
The town of Helen offers tubing down the Chattahoochee River, an Amusement Park and a bear park. Unicoi State Park is 3 miles north of city limits.
